Integrated Enterprise Modeling (IEM)

The IEM methodology supports a structured and transparent Business Process Engineering.

The computer-aided tool MOOGO realizes an user-friendly, efficient modeling and evaluation.

Frauhofer IPK developed the IEM method regarding an enterprise proceeding from an integral view of the value added processes of each enterprise and its tasks. As part of the planning process, this method results, meeting the demands set by the market, in the organization and architecture of the business processes, as well as in the development of the required information. IEM enables the definition of the individual interfaces though reasonable, process-organizational divisions of functions within the business processes, This method leads the user from a general architecture to a specific architecture of system support and interfaces in this enterprise by way of modeling business processes and the necessary information.

Method and tool are used in several different applications from enterprise modeling, analysis, enterprise network building, supply chain analyze etc.

·                        Business Process Engineering by standard analysis methodologies like process FMEA,

information flow   analysis, output assessment. For that criteria and performance indicators

can be flexible defined and evaluated as well applying already existing indicator metrics is

                           possible

               ▪     Choice of supporting IT Systems like workflow or project management systems

·                    ▪     Process cost analysis by using static parameters or real process data coming from controlling

systems. Process indicator lines and process cost indicator lines helps to identify bottle necks

and optimized setup of the processes in terms of resources, duration and output

·                         Approaches to enable harmonized processes and structures in distributed enterprises by

sharing kernel processes and enterprise infrastructure

·                    ▪      Enterprise benchmarking helps to identify new approaches and solutions coming from

different branches in order for using in the own company

·                    ▪      Methodologies to improve the knowledge management apply the MO²GO tool in order to

optimize e.g. the transfer of process experiences between the enterprise stakeholder and

                            from one project to another.

·                          MO²GO support the implementation and the operation of new processes by automatically

generation of a process assistant for the enterprise intranet. The assistant disseminate the

new standards for managing e.g. project types and supports the execution by providing

context sensitive the relevant and actual templates tools and information to the project

                            participants.

·                          The IEM methodology and the MO²GO are used to support corporate and intra organizational

quality management. So the relevant analysis according to test planning and auditing can be

derived automatically from the model. The intranet process assistant can be used for

enterprise documenting as the only one base for certification according to the ISO 9000:2000

as well for the much stronger standard TS 16949. On the other hand the model makes

analysis according to several risks easily applicable. E.g. the Fraunhofer IPK uses MO²GO for

development of HACCP (hazard critical control point) concepts.
